Technology - Our Future
Independent Ink Technologies (IIT) is an industry leader in the development of new technology and the implementation of existing technologies. In this role, IIT has been instrumental in assisting:
INK MAKERS
Sheetfed Process ink development to equal world's best products.
Web Offset News Black with very low rub characteristics.
Ink rheology characterisation.
Low temperature dry Heatset products.
Training programs in China, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia
Development of testing and benchmarking systems.
Ink factory throughput optimisation.
Raw material testing and certification.
Technology
to optimise trapping and print contrast in all
facets of Lithography.
| Q Is your ink really
different from the rest? IIT technology adds value ! |

RAW MATERIAL VENDORS
Carbon selection to minimise rub off in Web Offset News Blacks.
Carbon selection to optimise gloss and density in high quality Sheetfed Blacks.
Use of modified fossil resins to replace expensive phenolic resins in News and other Lithographic Blacks.
Development of locally manufactured resins to target the printing ink industry.
Classical pigment selection based on grinding method to optimise dispersion time and tinctorial strength.
Q How do you sell raw materials to
an ink maker ? By adding value !
Let IIT show
you how !!
PAPER
SUPPLIERS
Accurately predict printability characteristics of paper and board.
Detect batch variations in incoming supplies.
Resolution of disputes leading to potential claims.
Assist in development programs to improve paper quality.
Q Do you know if the paper you are
selling will cause set off, picking, low gloss, high ink
usage, poor scuff ?
IIT does !
PRINTERS
Rationalization by technological selection of papers to effect significant net savings in purchasing.
Technical evaluation of inks to rationalise purchases.
Resolution of disputes leading to potential claims.
Lithographic chemical evaluations.
Ink and varnish compatibility tests.
Evaluation of light and chemical resistance of prints.
Benchmarking of inks and consumables.
Incoming goods quality assurance.
On-press technical service and troubleshooting.
Press audits to determine standard performance.
Corporate colour standardisation.
Q Do you evaluate printing inks by
the costly press test method? Why ?
IIT can benchmark these products on
a scale of 0 - 100 eliminating the "also
ran" products and saving
you time and
money.
